As a Data Engineer, you’ll be one of the driving forces behind our data-driven activities and a key partner for our various stakeholders on these topics within METRO Markets.

 You’ll have a strong focus on ensuring that our data is at the right place at the right time, working on our streaming and batch pipelines. Furthermore, you’ll develop and maintain data products that combine various data from our systems with our machine-learning models to enable others to make the most of our data. You’ll collaborate with amazing colleagues of all disciplines in cross-functional, agile teams to develop our digital products and grow our business. Also, you’ll enable other teams to use our tool stack and allow them to take ownership of their data.
Your responsibilities

• Plan and build, deploy and maintain batch as well as streaming pipelines.
• Work in cross-functional teams on data products to automate or support smart decisions based on our data.
• Contribute to further enhancements of our data platform using serverless and open source technologies. 
• Ensure code and data quality by participating in code reviews, writing (unit) tests for code as well as data, and contributing to our documentation.
• Enable other teams to use our data platform and enable them to take ownership of their data and get the most value out of our data.
