For our newly established B2B direct sales channel, we are seeking a full-time Key Account Manager to join our dynamic, international team at our Düsseldorf office.
In this role, you will work with our high value customers while helping to further develop our commercial offer, processes, and ways of working. The product and channel are still evolving — requiring a hands-on, pragmatic approach and close collaboration with internal teams.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with many teams across the company to acquire, onboard, and grow large customers, while ensuring our key account offering continues to meet market needs. As part of the METRO Group, we work closely especially with local METRO sales teams to grow our joint business with shared customers — across channels and borders.
This role offers the opportunity to actively shape how we serve key account customers and to contribute to building the internal capabilities, processes, and standards of a growing business area.
The position covers the full sales cycle — from customer acquisition and negotiation to onboarding and ongoing account development — with a strong focus on building long-term, sustainable customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive the acquisition of new key account customers, primarily in close collaboration with METRO country organizations and local sales teams
- Build, maintain, and leverage strong internal and external networks to identify and develop commercial opportunities
- Own the end-to-end sales process for key accounts — from initial engagement and negotiation to onboarding and ongoing account development
- Act as a hands-on commercial partner for customers, taking responsibility beyond classic sales tasks where needed to ensure successful cooperation
- Develop and negotiate individual customer offers aligned with customer needs and commercial targets
- Serve as a key interface between customers and internal teams, translating customer requirements into actionable input for product, operations, and IT
- Track and report relevant commercial KPIs and contribute to the continuous improvement of sales approaches and processes
